Rania Siona

Landscape Design & Management | Amsterdam

Born (1985) in the beautiful Mediterranean country of Greece, surrounded since a very young age by plants and vegetables in private gardens of my family, I knew already that florists and gardeners are the happiest people.

I followed my instincts and spending my studying years in Greece and England learn how to design with plants and nature, specializing in the management and the maintenance of the landscape around us.

My experience is based on the integration of ecology and horticulture in order to achieve landscapes that are dynamic, with impact on people’s lives, and close to nature.

Today I am based in Amsterdam and I am exploring the opportunities to make our cities greener and more liveable.

For my designs I follow an ecological approach on planting gardens and public spaces. The inclusion of green roofs, green walls, rain garden, pollinator habitats and sustainable agriculture are just a few of the practices that reduce carbon footprints and expand the framework I currently work on.

I have been committed to designing and I am trying to develop plans for creating sustainable future.

So the primary objective of my work is to move the planting design and landscape horticulture from a functional role, to solving and reversing one of the major problems of our time, climate change.

SkyGarden Care, is an active member in the NVTL, Dutch association for garden and landscape architects, since 2018.

From September 2020 I am affiliated as candidate-member of the board of the association Groei & Bloei, in the department of Amsterdam.
